CLS is searching for a Facility Risk Manager for our client in Metairie, La. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a great company!
Essential Responsibilities:
• Contributes to the development of the department’s strategic and operating planning and meets assigned target dates and objectives; helps ensure that department quality, service and productivity standards are met
• Conducts review and analysis of general liability claims for healthcare facility insureds in conjunction with Regional Risk Managers, Hospital RM Specialist and Long Term Care Facility Specialist
• Conducts general liability risk assessments for healthcare facilities; provides insureds with loss prevention and loss control interventions that are consistent with RM principles
• Provides RM consultation (in person and on phone) to healthcare facility insureds
• Develops and presents live and online RM education seminars to medical providers and facility staff
• Conducts PL/GL loss analysis for healthcare facilities based on internal and external data/information
• Evaluates general liability losses, make comparisons to the book of business, and draws conclusions for developing and implementing loss prevention and loss control interventions
• Maintains RM department reference library
• Maintains RM sections of client web site and hospital and facility sections of the MI web site
• Maintains RM policies and procedures
• Reports to client committees regarding facility insured’s risk profile
• Serves as general liability RM expert to client insureds
Secondary Responsibilities:
• Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned
• Attends seminars relevant to general liability
• Attends seminars/conferences for client’s marketing department, as assigned
Education, Experience and Skills
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 4-6 years of experience in managing facility risks and liability
• 3-5 years of experience in the Risk Management, quality improvement, facility services, claims, insurance, or other healthcare related field
• Formal presentation skills
• Experience interacting with healthcare professionals
• Strong motivation, creativity, and decision making skills
•Ability to prepare and effectively present comprehensive written and verbal reports and recommendations
• Strong customer focus and team orientation
• Commitment to continuing industry and individual functional education
• Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive company
• Excellent communications skills with the ability to interact and work effectively with employees at all levels within and outside of the organization
• Ability to manage time, set priorities, and work independently and in cooperation with others when appropriate; ability to organize, analyze, and interpret information
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs
• Must have continuous and uninterrupted access to reliable transportation; must maintain driver’s license and insurance as required by state
• Available for overnight travel; frequent travel up to 50% of the time with some overnight stay required
Desired:
• CHESP, CHFM, ARM, CPHRM, or other insurance certification
• Experience in healthcare
• Master’s Degree in healthcare or insurance related fields
