CLS is searching for a Fine Art Logistics Coordinator for our client in the Greater New Orleans area. The ideal candidate will work directly with upscale objects on site, in museums, art galleries and various other venues including private collectors, corporate art collections, public art collections and various other institutions. Fine Art Logistics Coordinators will coordinate with internal and external clients, registrars, collection managers, conservator-restorers, exhibition designers, and curators, to ensure that objects are safely handled and cared for. Daily duties include but are not limited to: packing and unpacking art, installing and uninstalling art in exhibitions, and coordinating import and export of valuable items. 

Art preparators are responsible for ensuring the safety of artifacts and works of art. Basic carpentry skills are required to customize boxes and crates to carefully pack objects with appropriate materials to protect them from damage while in transit. 

Required Experience/Training/Education:

§ High school graduate, or equivalent

§ Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record

§ Carpentry experience with a basic knowledge of woodworking and power tools

§ 1+ years of packing and moving experience

Preferred:

§ Bachelor’s Degree in Art

§ Chauffeur’s or CDL license or willingness to acquire

§ Experience with and knowledge of fine art and antiques
