Aspiring QMED Oilers can earn their designated certifications through organizations such as the US Coast Guard. Most positions require valid transportation as well as the ability to walk, stand, kneel, stoop, and carry 25+ items.

- Merchant Mariner Credential with STCW Basic Safety Training
- Current USCG Medical Certificate
